ABOUT ME

MY STORY

After sustaining injuries from an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan while serving as a Marine Scout Sniper on October 28, 2009 , Josh Sweeney embarked on a journey to discover new avenues for representing his country on the international stage. He found his renewed passion in Paralympic sports, where he competed in the 2014 Paralympic Games in sled hockey, ultimately scoring the decisive goal in the gold medal match to clinch the gold medal.

Through partnerships with various organizations, Sweeney works to promote adaptive sports as a means of rehabilitation and empowerment, demonstrating how sports can serve as a powerful tool for physical and mental recovery.

Josh Sweeney has become a prominent advocate for veterans and disability sports, leveraging his own experiences as a wounded warrior to raise awareness about the challenges faced by veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Josh has firsthand experience with the routine, discipline, and sacrifices needed to excel—whether it was training as a sniper, enduring rigorous rehab, or preparing for the Paralympics. He understands the level of commitment required to achieve exceptional results, and he can translate that mindset into the workplace. He’ll instill the importance of showing up every day with your best effort, holding yourself accountable, and refusing to settle for anything less than excellence—values that are essential for success in any environment.
